Can red 40 give you a migraine?!

Question: it seems to give me one when I drink crystal light with red 40 in it.

Answers: it seems to give me one when I drink crystal light with red 40 in it.

If you are sensitive to it, it can cause a headache. I am more likely to think the artificial sweetener is causing the migraine. Many people cannot drink this chemical.
You should do some research on aspartame, it will cause the same symptoms as MS. In fact a little experiment is to drink about 3 glasses and see if your speech is slurred. My boyfriend tried this and started drooling because the chemicals in aspartame affect your tongue and speech.

Yes, or it could be the artificial sweetener used in Crystal Light. Some of those artificial sweeteners have been linked to migraines - especially aspartame. I'm not sure which one is in Crystal Light, though.

Everyone has different migraine triggers - mine is ricotta cheese.

Yes, the red 40 could do it. You should just avoid it so you don't get migraines - especially something like Crystal Light which has a high amount of artificial colors in it.

Good luck!

I am pretty sure that it can. I know that little ones are DEF. not supposed to drink anything with red 40 or red dye all together in it because of the side effects. It makes them very hyper and they said it makes people with a.d.d. worse when they drink anything with red dye. I know it can give you a headache but I am not sure abotu a migraine because that is pretty severe! I would maybe go get it checked out or do a test and stop drinking it for a week and see what happens.

I love, Dasini Plus, its water w/0 calories and has fiber in it too! But you can only get it at target! Good luck and hope your head feels better!
