Question: What is the grace peroid at your doctors or dentist office?is it a good amount of time? I'm pissed because i got there at 12 min. after the grace peroid was 10!!!

Last week I went to my OB GYN, I arrived 10 minutes BEFORE my scheduled appointment. The receptionist put my chart in the wrong doctors folder so as I waited, my doc did not know I was there. At about 10 minute after my appointment time I went to the front desk and asked how long I should wait. At that point she pulled my name up in the computer and told me I was too late for my appointment and that I needed to reschedule (Yes folks, the exact same dimwit who checked me in 20 minutes earlier!), meanwhile my cell phone was ringing, it was my doctors nurse calling me to reschedule my "missed" appointment.....
Needless to say, I insisted my doc see me anyhow.
I guess the standard "grace" period is 10 minutes

Some doctors won't take you if you're late. I know it sucks.

It's the time necessary for the receptionist,Grace, to get her head out of her A-ss and get with the program. Should your Dr not have a "Grace" working for him you are S.O.L.
My Dr. is good at what he does but his office staff are nincompoops---In the room where folders are kept I esitmated some 3,000 patient folders are visible and that seems like a hell of load for any one person to deal with,let alone manage the intracacies of medical conditions,treatments, Rx's,referrals,etc.
In a philosophical sense I feel like they have to hire morons if they are extrememly intelligent just to average things out !
Oh they do have smart one in there too, its just she gets the day off when its my turn to have an appoinment.
I sure hope they still took you. It's ironic that the doctor has a grace period as whether you are early or right on time you still have to wait for the doctor - sometimes you may wait over an hour.
