Question: What are calories,how many should I lose a day?

I weigh 68kg and height 162. I want to lose a lot of weight and weigh 60kg in 3 months time.

I do exercise 4 times a week and on the cardio machine it says how many calories I lose and each day I lose 300 calories.Is that good?

Calories are units of energy.

When you eat, you take in calories from your food. If you eat more calories than you burn during the day through your normal activities, then you will gain weight as your body stores the surplus energy as fat.

You burn calories by walking around, breathing, and doing exercise.

Losing 300 calories through exercise isn't going to help you lose weight if you are eating more than 2000 calories in a day.

Your calorie output has to be higher than your calorie intake to lose weight, as your body will start using fat as a fuel source, once the calories from your food has been used up.
