One Ovary..?!

Question: When I was 15 I had one of my ovaries removed due to a large cyst growing on it, now im 19 and really starting to wonder if the fact that I have one ovary will make a difference on my chance of getting pregnant, ive been having unproteced sex with my partner for a good 8-9 months and nothing has come of it.. any ideas?

I still have both my ovaries and have a cyst on one. I'm 23 and have been married for 2 years. Out of 2 years of unprotected sex without the use of birth control or anything I haven't gotten pregnant either. I think it's a timing thing. Definitely talk to your doctor/gyno about this. It never hurts to find out all the facts and statistics. :)

You'll have a baby when you're meant to. God just has other plans for you at the moment.

Consult with your doctor, very important and better have your partner be examined by your doctor as well for a complete answer to your question

You don't need both ovaries to get pregnant. Usually ovulation alternates between the left and right ovaries from month to month, but not always. You should talk to your doctor about it though. Also, I wouldn't recommend unprotected sex unless you want to get pregnant now.

talk to your doctor, and don't have unprotected sex, if you are not ready to start a family.
