15 birth control..Parents/ Doctor..?!

Question: So I am suppose to be going to the OBGYN to get birth control. I am 15 years old.. My periods are irregular.. And thats why my mom is taking me. My family dosn't know that I am sexually active with my boyfriend. We are responsable and use condoms every time. But what I was wondering was.. Does my mom have to go in with me when I go see the doctor.. Is there anyway that she dosnt have to find out im having sex.. And also the birth control that they will give me to regulate my periods.. will it help prevent me from getting pregnant .. like is it strong enough? I would appreciate it if I got some answeres.. Im really nervous!!

Your mom won't be able to go into the room with you unless you WANT her to. You are a patient with patient rights and she can't know anything unless YOU tell her. If the doctors or nurses say anything to your mom, they can get in big trouble. Be sure to tell the doctor you are sexually active, and do mention that your mom doesn't know.
As far as the sex thing goes, birth control pills are supposed to be 99.9% effective against pregnancy if you take them dilligently. The thing is though, once in a while, a certain brand just won't work for someone. I was on a pill for 2 years that I found out wasn't working...I was still ovulating! It is very rare, but it does happen. Also are you and your boyfriend only sleeping with each other? If you don't use condoms, you have to worry about getting diseases. Birth control will NOT prevent getting STDs. In my opinion, I think because you are so young, you should keep using condoms along with the birth control. Doubling up on protection is smart, and it beats the alternative, a baby or diseases.

I dunno cuz ive never used it but can u guys all answer my question?

birth control is 99.9 percent effective, ive been on it for years and its worked =) and its really good at regulating periods did for me when i first went on it plus no she doesnt have to go in with you they aways ask you and anyway the doctors usually want to talk to you alone and its illegal for them to tell ur parents or anyone what you say to them privatley. x

YES YOU ARE UNDER 18 AND MOMS NOT STUPID SHE KNOW SHE JUST DOESNT WANT TO ADMIT IT.
BE HONEST..

Doctor Patient confidentiality.

your doctor cannot SAY ANYTHING to ANYONE if you ask. and yes you can go in alone without your parents.

Well, your obgyn isn't going to know that you're sexually active unless you tell her. By giving you a pap smear she cannot tell if you've had sex or not unless your results show that you have an std. Many girls break their hymens by stretching, exercising, using tampons, or even horseback riding.

Different types of birth controls are more affective than others. I'm assuming you are going on the pill and not an IUD or Nuvaring, taking the pill every day at the same time will increase protection. I would still recommend using condoms even though you are using birth control.

while birth control is effective, i wouldn't depend on it. your boyfriend should still use condoms each time you have sex. a lot of times the dosage they give you to regulate isn't enough to completely prevent pregnancy. your mother doesn't have to go in with you, it's completely up to you and confidential.

Your 15 and having sex.. geez.. if you feel that you are a big girl now to be having sex then be a big girl and tell you mother that you are sexually active... She is not stupid.. she probably already knows. Don't lie to your mother.

The pill is like condoms and is only effective 98% of the time if used properly so there is ALWAYS a chance of getting pregnant.. do some research on it and speak to your doctor
