How do I miss my next period while on the Pill?!

Question: I'm sure there are a million questions and answers to this, but I want to be clear about it.

I just started talking Cyclen on day 3 of my cycle this month after not being on the Pill for almost a year. My boyfriend and I are headed out of town when my period is scheduled to arrive and I'd rather not have it while we're away. Is it true that I can not take my placebos and just start on the next pack right away to miss my period? And will this be effective for me considering I'm only just beginning to take the Pill again?

Thanks!

Often doctors will say that it is safe to take the pill two months in a row, and thus skipping your period by skipping the placebo pills. This is actually what the pills like seasonale do. (You have 4 periods a year by taking three months worth at a time.) Depending on what kind of pill you have it either keeps you from ovulating, or keeps any eggs from implanting, and taking the pill for two months in a row should not change this as long as you are consistant about taking them.

You should also consider that sometimes it takes a month or two for the pill to fully kick in, so when you first start using it again, especially since you are contemplating using in a different way than it is reccomended, you would be safer to use condoms when you have sex. This is true for the first month or two of starting birth control again anyway.

Alos, when you take that second pack straight through you may end up with some spotting, especially if you have not been on pills for awhile. You might want to consider having some pantyliners or light days tampons on hand if this happens.

Yes it's true that you can skip your period that way. I am honestly not sure about the effectiveness, though.

dubble the dose the day ur sposed to start. or a day a head.
see birth control is a hormone, that simulates pregnacy so if you dubble up ur body really thinks its prego.

glad to of helped
