Heavy discharge?!

Question: Hi! Thanks for opening! Please answer!
I've had my period for like 5 months now. (like I started on December 9th, 2007) and they've been normal. But I usually get clear stretchy discharge when I ovulate. But now I have just heavy discharge that almost soaks my entire underwear! Is this normal? Am I ovulating, so my period will come in how many days? I'm still trying to figure this whole thing out. Why sometimes I have clear and stretchy but sometimes heavy?

Oh and the discharge I have now has no odor, and is clear and when it drys it becomes crusty and white.
And I'm 13 (14 in less than a month!)

Count the first day of your period as Day 1. When you start your next period, that is Day 1. The days in between is how long your cycle is. It's best to count the days and not try to figure out your period from when you ovulate.

Once you start puberty a white and/or clear, non-foul smelling discharge (mucous) is normal. The vagina is self-cleaning. This same discharge increases the closer you get to ovulation and when you are sexually aroused. Trust me, you never want it to go away. Buy and wear pantyliners. Some girls do over-produce, but most doctors won't do anything about it.

You are normal.

Different Types of Discharge:

White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.

Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.

Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.

Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.

Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.

normal............just ovulation

yes. what you are experiencing is normal. i get the exact same thing. try panti liners.. but make sure you change them frequently. if you wear thongs they have liners specially shaped to fit them too.

Your discharge is normal. Clear or white discharge means that you are 100% healthy and normal. It is also very common for it to be heavier than normal sometimes. It's okay. It's just your body trying to clean out your vagina. If you are having problems keeping your underwear clean I might suggest wearing something like LightDays pads, but other than that you have absolutely nothing to be worried about.

Vaginal discharge when clear and not smelly usually is just normal. There can be variations in consistency quantity and duration from time to time.
If you experience vaginal discharge at random times other than in the middle of your cycle when ovulation happens, or if something else worries you, you should consult a gynecologist. In any case, a young girl who just started to menstruate would benefit from a visit to the gynecologist and would find it very reassuring . I suggest you tell your mom you want to have a chat with one.
