My wife has terrible pain in her upper stomach area, no vomiting but some nausia!

Question: have her gall bladder checked out. it often causes pain in the upper stomach.

Answers: have her gall bladder checked out. it often causes pain in the upper stomach.

Take her immediately to your family physician or the local ER for observation and treatment. It may be appendicitis or a number of conditions that require prompt medical attention.

I had a gall bladder stone, and I had extreme pain (eventually )in the back also.
If antacids and OTC relievers don't work,I really don't see any other option other than doctor.
If its a stomach cramp I always swallow air,or use alka seltzer...ETC to stretch it out.
good luck..

do you have any bicarbonated soda / bicarb soda / baking soda in the house?
if you're australian thats what it'd be called.
not sure about other countries tho.

anyway, if you do... pour her about half a glass of milk and put a heaped teaspoon of bicarb soda in it and mix it together.
have her drink it.... follow it down with a bit of straight milk if she needs to because the soda tastes quite bad.

within ten minutes she will begin burping a fair bit and her stomach will settle right down.

i had stomach ulcers, and always had horrible wains and nausia, i used that method almost every night. guaranteed quick fix. promise.

EDIT:

the first answer said appendicitis, if this were the case her lower side would be swollen and hard, and extremely painful.

well I would not rush her to the ER just yet...
You have left out some important info. like what did she eat? Has she done any vigorous exercise? Is she on any meds? Is she getting enough water to flush out her system, and keep her hydrated? Is she pregnant? Diabetic? Any other symptoms, like fever or rash?
Have your wife call the physician and see what he/she wants her to do.
