Women Only - OB/GYN's preferred!?!

Question: I recently started eating a much healthier diet (less than 6 months ago. I eat mostly fruits/veggies, grains, and seafood) and ever since, my personal scent has changed. I used to have a pleasant, salty smell about me, but since I started eating better, I smell fishy! Can eating a lot of fish make you smell fishy "down there?" I've been to see the gyno recently, and I have no infections or diseases. I shower every day, wear cotton panties, and drink lots of water. What is up? Is there anything I can do, short of perfume sprays and going back to my old fatty diet, to get back my old smell?

Please answer seriously. No stupid remarks or insults.

Some women can have something called BV (bacterial vaginosis) and not even know it that causes funky odors down below. Your ph level may be off causing the odor. You could try a product called REPHRESH. It is in the area that has pads/tampons/douches. You can find it at walmart. It controls your ph level giving you a more normal smell.

if you eat lots of fruits, you'll taste sweeter, but I don't know about the smell. You may want to talk to your gyno

I'v never heard of this but am interested in the answer

Your diet does change the way things smell there, but a healthy diet should only make it better, not worse like it is in your case. I think the problem is that you just got that little nasty bacteria there, and it has nothing to do with you eating healthy. Good news is that it's easily treatable. Your doctor will prescribe you some meds, and it takes about 2 weeks or less to cure it.

Any Walmart or super store like that has a supository for your vagina. It basically freshens it. I wish I could think of the name of it, but it is by the feminine products/douches. Its in a small box. It doesn't happen from eating seafood, sometimes your body goes through cycles and can produce diff. scents you are not use to. You will get through this. Also, not sure if you are sexually active or not, but if a man ejaculates inside you, that can change your PH and cause a scent change. Hope this helps, deff. check for the supositories, I tried them once before, it's the miracle your looking for.

Well I have to admit you have me stumped on this one, I also eat very healthy started about 2 to 3 years ago, and have never encountered that problem. I would not suggest going back to your old diet, being healthy is very important.. I think if it was me I would get a second opinion. I believe you when you say you are clean, maybe start going over things in your head.. Have you changed any soap items that you use, are you using a differant brand of toilet paper, etc.. Some woman are very sensitve to change in the vaginal area.. And if nothing adds up once again consider a second opinion or further testing.

bacterial vaginosis can give you the "fishy" smell.

Even though you were just at the gyno I would call and explain and see if they will give you the meds to take care of it.

Its not necessarily from your diet.
