Period Concerns & Tampon Frights?!
Question: I have not yet had my period and i'm worried.i'm below 15 year old, and think that this is abnormal :( also, when i have my period, i want to use pads,not tampons as i have heard it is painful, and can cause injuries, there is no obligation to wear tamons is there?

Don't be worried about getting your period, I didn't get mine till I was 14 and my sister didn't get her's till she was 16. It is different for everyone.
As for tampons- You can use whatever you want. But I assure you that when you start your period and start wearing pads, you will hate them. It feels like you are wearing a diaper. Also, it makes your pants stick out weird, and you can't go swimming. I think you will eventually turn to tampons. They don't hurt. You can't even feel them when you are wearing them. It is scary putting one in for the first time, but after that it will be a breeze. Just make sure and get some slim fit ones ?
First of all your fine, the age for everyone is differant I would say as long as you get it before 18 your fine.. The tampons is a personal choice, some woman swear by them some woman hate them. Your not at all obligated to even try them if you dont want to.. Thats entirely up to you.
I STARTED OFF WITH PADS, UNTIL I FELT COMFORTABLE ENOUGH WITH MY BODY TO TRY A TAMPON. IT IS JUST WHATEVER MAKES YOU FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE. AND UNDER 15 AND STILL NO PERIOD IS A REGULAR THING. EVERYONE STARTS AT DIFFERENT AGES. SOME PEOPLE EARLIER THAN OTHERS.
It's ok not to have your period at 15. some people don't start untill 18. Tampons can't cause injury. They are made of a cotton like material. You dont have to wear tampons. I chose not to, i find pads fine. There is a website called beinggirl.com which helped me. It is made by allways and tampax and is designed especily for teenages. Hope that helps :)

not all girls have their period before the age of 15 so you are fine. Tampons do not hurt. i used them the first month i got my period and i could not go back to using pads. there is no obligation to use tampons unless you want to swim when you are on your period
