What can constant stomach ache be a sign of?!

Question: For the past two weeks i've been having an almost constant stomach ache. For periods every day it'd get quite painful, and then it'd subside for a while and then come back again. Sometimes it'd get worse after eating, but then other times it wouldn't.

It's been like this for the past 2 weeks or so, although over the past few days it has been getting a bit better (but it does still ache).

Yesterday for a few hours i had stabbing pains in my lower stomach, even touching my stomach was painful but then that went away eventually too.

Some people have said i could be pregnant, but i'm on the pill and i've always used protection, and when this started i was on my period so it seems highly unlikely that i am pregnant.

I do have an appointment to see my doctor, but does anyone know what this might be?

Might possibly be an ulcer or IBS

I had the same symptoms and they told me I was constipated and had bad gas. Eventually, a good doctor finally found the root of my problem. I had to have surgery and have my gallbladder taken out. The doctor said you can only find problems with your gallbladder after an ultrasound. Report It

I suggest you see someone for a second opinion. I went through a lot of pain until my surgery and now it hasn't bothered me since. Report It

  • Could be an ulcer.

    Ulcer
    Appendix

    UTI-urinary tract infection

    just a guess...glad you're seeing a doctor though...could be a hyadial hernia..not sure of spelling....or an ulsr

Sounds like a ulcer, hun, although what do I know.. Its good you hav the doctors appointment as that is his is the only answer that will put you at ease.

It might actually be the birth control pills making you nauseous. When I was on the pill I had to take it at night...if I took it in the morning I would be sick all day. The stabbing pains could very likely be an ovarian cyst, but don't worry they are fairly common and usually go away on their own. Make an appointment with your gyno for an ultrasound...you should be able to find out what's going on.

PS - I would go for an ultrasound before going to an urgent care clinic or hospital...they will end up giving you a CT scan which is around $3,000. This happened to me and all they found was a cyst which could have been detected with a $200 ultrasound.
