Tampons--HELP!?!
Question: I've had my period for over a year now and everytime I get my period I try using tampons cause that is SO much easier then pads but no matter what position I get in and no matter what size or brand I use they are to uncomfortable!
Everytime I go to put one in it's very uncomfortable and I can the friction between the cotton and my vagina. I've tried putting a little petrolium jelly on the end to make it smoother but that doesn't help--What do I do!?
How long until my V- will be big enough for tampons?
Also I'm only 13 but when it's time will this affect my sex life? If I'm not size wise big enough to use a tampon what about a guys p3nis?-

just relax!! sit on the toilet and breathe!!! I suggest using OB silk ease, they don't have an applicator so you push it in with your finger and it goes exactly where you want it to go. If you can feel it, it needs to be pushed up further.
Just keep relaxing and trying again.
As for sex it shouldn't effect it, your vaginas expands when you're turned on and the penis will fit, it sometimes hurt, I've been having sex for 2 years and sometimes it hurts depending on the position so that's just something you'll need to experiment with when you're older.

Ok first of all you shouldn't be thinking about a man's penis in your vagina at only 13 years old.
Try using tampons with a plastic applicator. Also try using a mirror to make sure you're putting them in correctly. There are tampons designed for young teens that are smaller in size so try those out too.
Im not quite sure vaginas grow, youl be fine.
lol don't stress. you'll get it sooner or later, don't rush it. you're only 13- you've got so much time ahead of you to figure it out and i don't believe it'll affect your sex life, haha.

iwoould think you need to be about 16 before you use them but then agian i am not sure my mom enver spoke to me about them and i didnt' get to usethen till i was 25. it was great when i could though they are nice and easy so you can't tell if you are wearing them if you have jeans on but can see them otherwise its discutsting.
First of all your 13 you should have a sex life second you may need to wait or talk to a doctor about it, you may be puting them in wrong.!
Don't worry, I'm 15 and I use pads too scared for tampons. You're perfectly normal. It's not going to affect your *eventual* sex life.
I can't use tampons and I am 24... I have never found them comfortable. I have no problems in any other areas though ;)
I think it might be a little psychological. I know its in there and I can't stop thinking about it and it bothers me. You might have the same problem.
There shouldn't be any cotton coming in contact with you until the applicator is removed.It sounds like you need to read the instructions or ask your mom for assistance.
It sounds like you aren't getting it in at the right angle. I've had the same problem. You may need to ask your mother for some help (no matter how embarasing). And, don't worry for now about a man's p3enis, the walls of your V will stretch when you do decide to have sex. Just be ready for some discomfort the first few times.
Have you tried the very thin ones for lite days?
I couldn't wear tampons until after I lost my virginity because I was so tight down there. Don't feel bad. I know it's not as convenient as tampons but you might have to wear pads so you're not so uncomfortable. Also, ask your mom or aunt or whatever to take you to a gynocologist and maybe she can suggest something for you. there might be a specific kind of tampon that you could wear. I hope this helps.
I have the same issue. Its not the size thats the issue. Try using plastic applicators they're easier to use.
Yikes... I didn't start using a tampon until I was sexually active- at age 18. I would wait. But, if you insist, buy the smallest ones and put a panty liner on. Also try lubricating your V with either your saliva or the jelly right before you insert it. I would lubricate my finger and put that up there first to get it ready and then insert the tampon. Sorry of that sounds indecent, but if it helps, that's what I'd do. Yes, a guy's penis will hurt for the first few times, I bet, like it did for me. But after a while, it will start feeling good. Don't have sex until you are ready though!!! Hopefully wait several years. :)
Im 16 and have been on my period for over 5 years. Tampons use to be verrry uncomftrable.Before i would insert one i would wait for a steady blood flow so you dont have to worry much about the friction. Do not worry about the sex life part, when you become sexually active it might be uncomftrable the first time...but all because a tampon hurts it does not mean when you have sex it will be the same!
Try inserting the tampon in as far as you want it to be inside of you and then just pull the plastic part out instead of pushing the actual cotton part into yourself. In my opinion, Tampax Pearl are the most comfortable. Hope that helps!
you should just give it time.try doing it when your period is really heavy, usually its a lot easier.im 15 right now, and i started when i was 10! i tried for years to use them, and it never worked for me either.Finally, i tried it one time, and it worked. i figured out i was doing it wrong the whole time.you should ask your friends if your comfortable enough and ask for their advice.Also, if its uncomfortable after you put it in, its in wrong, because you shouldnt feel it at all.well hope i helped!!good luck!oh and dont worry about the sex thing, im sure you'll be fine. :]
Are pads really that much easier than tampons? If no tampon feels right I'd switch over to the pad for awhile. There are thin ones that are a lot more comfortable and there's less of a risk of getting TSS, which comes from not changing your tampon often. As for sex, I wouldn't worry about how big he says he is. Remember, a baby is born out of a woman's vagina. But of course all with due time, no need to rush these types of things.
The first step is to make sure you are using a small tampon - look for it to say teen or slender. After that, chances are it can be made to work for you. Most 13 year olds are already large enough for a slender tampon.
The best I found when I was young was to use a plastic applicator so it was slippery all over. I often put a little vaseline on it like you say you are. Then I did the bathtub trick - one leg up on the tub and slide it in. Its normal to feel full and weird as you put it in - at 13 you will feel very full. If you have enough lube on it, you wont feel friction as it goes in, just a slippery sensation and a feeling of opening up inside.
Once you do the actual insertion and remove the applicator, the fun begins. You should feel the tampon for a minute or two, and you may continue to feel it when you are moving a lot. But for the most part it will disappear and it should be hard to notice it inside your vagina. If you are noticing it, its probably not deep enough inside. Try making sure you are putting them as far as you can.
Once they are in all the way, you should be able to wear them no problem.
There is always a small chance you are too small - but even if you are - dont worry, you will continue to grow and it will get better.

i did that at first. go slowly and make sure you put it
in far enough. thats a big cause of umcomforable ness .
OK I had this same problem, OB tampons are the best to use for young girls because they are a lot smaller. When I was your age no matter what I did I could not use tampons because they always seemed to hurt me! Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot you can do right now but wait til your older. There is that skin that breaks when you have sex for the first time and then tampons... no problem... until then you just have to suffer. Petroleum jelly is about the only thing that will make them bearable. sorry sweetie.. =(
ok to answer your question.... Your body has to get used to the feel of the tampon until you cant feel it... It took me 4-5 periods worth of time to fully get used to them, so just hang in there and you will be fine.
i had the same problem when i was first try 2 use tampons i just kept trying until i found the right 1 for me
