Ok, question about medical marijuana and pregnancy?!
Question: my female friend is knocked up and in her first trimester. She also has a script for that medical pot stuff for arthritit in her knees and hip. She claims that the medical weed helps with cramps and morning sickness. I think this needs to be studied closer. Do you think she could make a ton of money by expressing this idea to doctors and maybe even get printed in a medical journal. I think morning sickness is a big complain of women who are preggers and I was wondering if this "cure" was already discovered!

If you puke, you lose all the food and vitamins you just ate. It's hard to puke when you've got the munchies, so get stoned to provide good nutrition to your baby.
If you do drugs the baby gets addicted too, so thats prolly not the best idea

and type of drugs is bad for the baby. a lot women have/had morning sickness....deal with it..it is part of pregnancy. tell her to stop smoking weed!!! not good for the baby!!! there is other meds out there for arthritis! i dont think any doctor would agree to this "theory" that your friend has..sorry.

HOWEVER, the effects of this on the fetus have not been really studied and the outcome is, at best, unknown. Even if she IS in her first trimester, what she takes into her body WILL effect her fetus, just as if she were to consume alcohol in her first trimester she has a higher chance of birth defects due to this.
And this is from someone who believes that cannabis is basically the magical cure for everything...
there is inconclusive evidence about the effects of pot on a fetus. in many cases it has messed with the brain development, in many cases it hasn't. it is also know to cause hyper tension in the baby like caffeine which also is a puzzle to doctors. some docs say no caffeine some say a bit here and there is fine. my best friend was even allowed one glass of wine when she was pregnant. the bottom line though is because it might effect the baby negatively she should stop. i assume she must be in a lot of pain from her arthritis but unfortunately when you get pregnant you have to give up most medications because the baby doesn't react to it like you do..its bad for the baby.
the morning sickness will pass...she shouldn't mess with mother nature. i puked the entire nine months with my last one...it's all irrelevant now.
Well, there a number of factors to consider here. The first being the conception of the child to be. I would assume, perhaps wrongly, that you are the father. If that be the case, I'm sure that there were a number of drugs and various other chemicals discharged into her yammy in the form of Jethro's' joy juice.
That being the case, I'm am sure that the child is well inoculated for a number of drugs.
As for making a bunch of money....let's just see how the child looks after birth. If it is in fact yours....ummmm...probably not much. But then again it could look like.......never mind.
