Herpies w/no sexual activity?!
Question: So I get the occasional cold sore and I had one and it's like healing anyway, I dont know if this has to do with it but I have this pain around my vaginal opening, well it hurt yesterday and now it jst itches alot and is like a weird itchy pain, I am on the onset of my period but again idk if that matters becuase this hasnt happened. So I was in the shower and I was looking there is like an area that looks like a blood spot, I am freaking out. Is it possible that I have genital herpies. I am 18 years old NEVER HAD SEX, oral, vaginal, Nothing, never been touched down there by anyone but me. Is it possible that i contracted it by accidentally touching my mouth than my vagina or something and gettin gherpies. I am sooo upset, my mom says she thinks it's a yeast infection but i've never had that. I am just so upset. Waht could it be?

Cold sores are Herpes, the oral kind (most often). Genital sores come from a different type of herpes (most often) BUT it is possible to get either one in either place! Yes, it is possible to self infect by touching it and touching somewhere else without washing well in between. I'm sorry, it's the truth. The best thing is to see a doctor and be tested. You'd need to have sores or bumps that he/she could rupture and then culture. A person can also pass herpes to another through oral sex, kissing, and every other way you can think of that has direct skin to skin contact. Don't freak out, just get tested. If for no other reason than to put your own mind at ease.
you might have hereditary herpes. you could have inhereted that from someone in your family. to get that kind of herpes, you dont need to have done anything sexually.
cold sores? that's herpes. i get cold sores too.
butt i dont know about that vaginal pain you're talking about. probably go to a doctor.
Calm down. You don't have herpes. It is a yeast infection. Just because you've never had one doesn't mean you can't get it. Having a yeast infection has nothing to do with sex or std's. Every single woman will have at least one yeast infection in her lifetime. It's totally treatable and it goes away in about a week.
the herpes strain that causes cold sores won't cause vaginal herpes, so on that front you ae safe. it's not herpes.
