Breast discharge; please be mature!?!

Question: This is kind of embarrassing:
I breastfed my son until age 6 months. He's now 2, so that was a while ago.
Today after my shower, I noticed a speck of white on one of my nipples. I squeezed it to see better, and a drop of milky discharge came out! There's no way I could still be lactating after 2 years is there? What's going on; is this normal?

I too have experinced the same thing even 2 - 3 years after breast feeding both of my children, I last breast fed my son almost 2 years ago and every once in a while I will notice some milky disharge, I asked my doctor about it and she said that most of the time it probably occurs during my ovulation period when more hormones are produced that makes the milky discharge come out. You are fine and it has nothing to do with breast feeding it can happen to any women at any time.

About 20% of all reproductive-aged women (especailly those who have breast fed) will spontaneously lactate or express fluid. It can be normal, but it could also indicate a more hazardous problem.

PLEASE make an appointment with your doctor to make sure all is well. Chances are it's nothing, but better safe than sorry!

Not lactating not normal are you taking any medications? Please see your ob/gyn about this, it could be hormonal

Its not normal. It can be a sign of a really bad disease, or just clothing irritation.

i breast fed my son till he was 2and a half months old, well he is 4 years old now. and i still get a lil milk coming out but only if i sqeeze it a lil. so i ask my dr and she said that it is normal.
