Stop growing aftr period?!
Question: how long aftr u get ur period do u stop getting taller? i'm 12, and i got my period when i was 11 (last may) and i am really short (like 4'11" or 5')
how much longer will i grow? (mind you my mom is only 5' 1" and my sister is 5' 3")

my personal experience - i slowed down growing tall when I got my period. I stopped growing about 2 yrs after I got it.
Usually around 15-17 youll stop growing.
really you keep growing all your life...your period doesnt mean you stop growing
I was told (and I think it's an old wives tale) you stop growing about 6 months after your period starts. I'm sure there are exceptions but I am the same height I was and I'm just your height.

First of all, I don't get what do growing taller have to do with after the period thing. Second, how old is your sister? Finally, usually girls don't stop growing taller or puberty until around the age of 18. Age 11~18 is girls' puberty.
I've heard that "old wives tale" also. I would guess (and it is truly a guess) you are not going to get much taller... you have many things going for you. You never have to turn down a date because he is too short, you can purchase your clothes in the children's department (save money). You will NEVER be called Amazon... in my books that is sooo worth being short.
