You could possibly be suffering from endometriosis, this is where the womb lining grows out of your womb and attaches itself to your tubes and other areas making the lining swell and bleed causing immense pain in your abdomen and causes moodswings and a lot of other symptoms. You should also asked to be checked out for polycystic ovary syndrome which explains itself and that can cause a hell of a lot of pain and irregular bleeding and sometimes no bleeding at all. If left untreated it can lead to infertilty as it has me so the sooner the better.

you are pregnant

I would say go to the doctor to be safe three weeks is a long time to be on your period

No, I don't think that is normal. You should see a doctor. Having irregular periods all the time is not normal, they should have become irregular a few years after your first period.

Go to the doctor. I've never had a 3 week period and I'm 50. Go!

honey, please don't waste time in a place like this for what could be a medical emergency--call your GYN (yes, now) and explain to them what's happening and ask to be seen as soon as possible. It is your DOCTOR who decides whats best, not this forum (which I love..) Please call them right away; that's what they are there for.

couple yrs ago i did have the same thing. i had to get a hysterectomy it was caused by fibroids on my uterus (which are non cancerous, but they will tell you it may be). go to your regular doc or if you have an OB/GYN go to him. your reg doc will refer you. but sounds like it may be something along those lines. if the choice is given get a full hysterectomy. then you dont have cancer to worry about thruout the ovaries, uterus, and all that. good luck. and its NOT a medical emergency if this is what you got.... i waited well over 15 yrs.

Go to a doctor.

I have a friend who had her menstruation for a month. When she finally consulted her physician, it was found out that she had an internal bleeding.

Take care.

Yes you should go to your doctor. It is probably just your hormones. I did that at one time I actually went for 5 weeks. The doctor put me on birth control pills and it took care of it.
It probably is nothing serious my daughter is 16 and had her period for 2 months recently and they had to put her on the pill and it stopped it also, and like you she had severe cramps. So good luck to you.

I don't know why it's happening but you should go to the doctor or at least call and see if they want you to make an appointment.

Have you been to the GYN in the last year? Does your doctor know about your problems? Are you bleeding very heavy (1 pad per hr) ? These are all reasons to make an appointment now.

I suffered for a long time with very bad periods until I had my first child. There is no reason to suffer with irregular periods and bad cramps. Talk to your doctor. She / He might want to put you on birth control or try a couple other things.

girl you might have been pregnant and is experiencing a misscarriage.....u should get to the doctor!!!

get to the doctor! you shouldn't bleed that much and be in the much pain for long!

yes i would go to the doctor if i were you will never know unless you go,
