I don't think I have a hymen...?!

Question: It's really weird, I'm a virgin and everything. But websites say you can actually see it, and I don't. I'm not sure what I am looking for though. I inserted my first tampon in perfectly, the first try with no pain, at all. So does this mean I just don't have one?
I horseback ride quite alot, bareback and everything. (I live on a ranch) but I don't remember any pain at all.
Is that possible?

A lot of young women and adult women for that matter, are under the mistaken impression that hymens stay intact until "broken" through sexual intercourse. Hymens break down naturally over time, and many women who make it to their adult years still virgins, may have little to no hymen left at all. Your horseback riding could very well have sped along the deterioration of your hymen. You wouldn't feel pain as it would not be an abrupt "breaking" but a slow breaking down, most likely. It is not something to be concerned about, or ashamed of. Here is an article you might find informative. http://www.coolnurse.com/hymen.htm
here is an excerpt from the article to be found at the link I provided above...Many girls and teens tear or otherwise dilate their hymen while participating in sports like bicycling, horseback riding, gymnastics or inserting tampons, or while masturbating. A girl may not even know this has occurred, since there may be little or no blood or pain involved when this happens. The tissues of the vulva are generally very thin and delicate prior to puberty. The presence or absence of a hymen in no way indicates whether or not a female is a virgin. * You are a virgin until you have sexual intercourse.*

um you probably have it still. it is in your vagina so you cant see it. but only 2 percent of girls break there hymen with a tampon. so umm. yea i guess youll have to wait till the special night to find out. ahah.

Not every female is born with a hymen. Many females may only have a partially intact hymen.

Yes, your hymen can be torn or stretched by the activities you listed and additionally by masturbation (inserting).

Don't put so much emphasis on your hymen as you should on your virginity. Hymen or not, you always have your virginity until you have intercourse with a guy.

it's on the outside of your vagina. you probably broke it without noticing. you can see it if you look in the mirror.
one day i had a lot of stinging pain down there. that's when i knew mine broke. from tight pants, can you believe it?

Every female has a hymen. I didn't know that you could actually see it though! I didn't experience any pain when I used a tampon though... I have heard that riding a bike can break it so I am sure riding a horse would stretch it out a little at the very least. Don't worry. It will still probably hurt when you have sex for the 1st time! Just be careful!!
