Bad headache--help please?!

Question: I'm PMSing like crazy and had a bad headache when I woke up this morning---decided to go to class anyways and it blew up into a full blown migraine---10 hours later it still won't go away. Any ideas on getting rid of it?

OWW!!!

Have you popped any Advil or Aspirin or anything? Not to scare you or anything, but migraines can be fatal if they go on for long enough. That's not from just a 10-hour one, though, so I'm not all THAT worried about you yet. Just take some meds and go lie down somewhere quiet and dark. If you do not start to feel better in an hour or two, then you might want to seek medical attention. If you do tend to get migraines around your period, then your doctor might be able to prescribe you something for them. I ALWAYS have a migraine the day before or the first day of my period unless I take my meds, unfortunately.

I'm sorry you're hurting, and I hope it passes soon.

see a good doctor

Take a BC

i get headaches alot. i take advil, put an ice pack on my forehead or head (it relieves my pain so good) and lay in a dark quiet room.

Try Alka Setlzer or stuff for migraines or ask the pharmacist.

drink water or coke. FOR REAL.

The best thing for you first and foremost get away from the computer. Starring at the computer screen will make it worse trust me. Take migrane medication if you don't have any take some motrin. Now, turn off all the lights, get a wet facecloth to lay across your forehead and go to bed. Goodluck, migranes are horid.

Take a pain relief medicine such as advil
and lie down with a cold compress on your head in the dark. Light only worsens migranes. I also would see a Dr. he may be able to give you a prescription that you can take when you feel a migrane coming on and it can prevent it from becoming full blown. Hope you feel better soon.

advil lol

Advil!!!!
idk why but after I take about 2 pills, whatever is wrong goes away in lyk 5 min.
Or take a pill that'll put you to sleep. so then you don't feel the pain.
But if it's rea! bad, go to the doctor's or sumthing.
Hope that helps.
?

there is nothing wrong with you, so don't be freaked out by people saying "go to the doctor". I have had migraines for a while now and some of mine have lasted for over 12 hours straight, if you just go to sleep and stop the stress of a student's life for about an hour and a half, then it probably will subside. Hope this helps!

pms will do that but make sure you dont over dose on any tylenols, avils etc. motrin is the best pain killer known to humanity so try that first and if it keeps on the best you can do is wait. sniff some coffee beans to clear you nose and mind hopefully and maybe try a cold washcloth on your head

Hey sorry for the migraine, I know how they are. OK I know this may sound a little retarded but trust me it works. I was watching home remedies on TV an headaches/migraines came up. They said to go get a lemon an peel it, then stick the peeling to your forehead. If you don't have a lemon but you do have some juice(like the ones in the bottle) you go get a rag put it under a little warmer than air temp, then squeeze some juice onto the rag. an place that on your forehead. Don't ask me how it works because I dunno but it does. I get headaches a lot an my brothers an my mom get migraines an it works for them. The first time I tried it was on my mom an I came home she was sick throwing up huge monster migraine an after about 20 min. it helped so much an a couple more min. after that it was gone. So good luck an hope you feel better soon! :):):)

cha cha cha cha. Hunny, this is the most easiest way to heal and soothe a horrible headache-SCOTCH TAPE on to the forhead. It sounds funny, but sweetie listen! It works.-marty Jean b

eat chocolate

i get headaches a lot as well. You could:

- buy oil from the pharmacy and rub it into forehead
- drink lots of water
- take some sleep
- take panadol
- put ice pack on forehead
- place hands firmly over forehead for a long period of time (you hand is very warm and will increase blood flow to your forehead which will help get rid of the headache)

Ask a doctor so he can put you on a medication.

For temporary relief, pinch your right hand between your thumb and index finger. Not right at the "webbed" part, more inward. I don't know if this works with a migraine, but it should help in the short run. But if it becomes frequent, see a doctor. Hope this helps!!
