My period hasn't come for 3 months?!

Question: First, get these facts:
I'm 13, not pregnant, and have had periods since I was 11.
Is it normal that the period would skip around like this? I know mine aren't set to be like clockwork, but it has never been this late before. Should I check up with a doctor, because is this a serious problem? Does this happen to anyone else around my age?

its normal for young girls i guess! i got mine when i was 11 too! and i'm now 13 too! the most i skipped for was one month, but my cousin, she's 15 this year, and she said the most she skipped for was 4 months! and she's definitely NOT pregnant, like you too! so i think its normal. just that the next time your period come, it'll be very heavy. sorry. don't want to scare you. but its the truth. be prepared for the blood demon!

if you're really really really x100 concerned, then see a doctor. but that's only if you're ultra nervous.

If you are not pregnant then you are probably okay. I am not your age but it happened to me when I was young too. Usually stress can do that to your period, especially at your age. Anything from boys to school can put stress on ya and then your period can go into hiding. If it persists though, mention it to your mom and see if you should go see a gynecologist just to make sure that everything is okay there,

if your not eating right that could cause it. you could also have something internal going on like PCOS or endometriosis.
it's best to get to a doc to see what's going on.

When I was younger, I'd often skip my period a few months in a row. Mine was very irregular and I'd get it about 9 times a year at the most. You're still young and your body is probably still regulating the cycle. I never went to a doctor and mine is fine now - I get it every month (I'm 20.)

well if you're positive you haven't had sexual intercose and that it might have thrown off your period i would suggest you see a doctor. It might not be anything serious but i recommend you check anyway. I didn't get my period for 4 months and it turned out i had cysts in my ovaries, they prescribed me birth control and it got rid of them. Don't be scared a lot of girls have problems with their menstrual cycle too. hope this helps! :)

yeah it happens before. I remember my friend freaking out when she was 14 because it had been about 3 months and she hadn't gotten her period and she was a virgin, but then she got it like a week later. I've heard that your period can be irregular until you're like 16 or something like that (though personally it's never happened to me). If you've lost a lot of weight, that could be the problem, but if you go a couple more weeks without it, go to the doctor probably because it could be something serious.
