How to ask to start wearing tampons ?!
Question: So im 15 years old
i always use pads, ive used them since i started my pd.
ive never used a tampon
but i looked on the internet and there are like--12 and 13 year olds using tampons !
and the summer is coming and i wanna swim
how to i ask my mother if i can start to use them ?
or how can i hint to her ?

I completely understand what you are going through and thinking, i had to do the exact same thing when i had my period, and i know how embarrasing and awkward it seems before you ask to use tampons!!
But just think, your mum went through the same thing too,and even though it seems a little embarassing to ask her, she wants you to be the most comfortable and happy you can be. So she wont mind if you ask her to buy you some tampons. The easiest way to do it is if you go shopping together, walk into the pad and tampon section together and casually just pick up a packet of tampons and ask if you can try these this time. Trust me, its much easier than approaching her and asking!!!!
If that doesnt work, just go up to her one day and say that you are really hoping to swim if you have your period this summer and could she buy you some tampons to try. THis is easy, too.
OR you could write a note or text her [indirect contact is also easier and less awkward]
But remember that she went though it too and will definitely not mind buying you something different.

And by the way, try mini/slim tampons first, and wear a liner with them. This way they are easier to insert and you can tell how long you have to wear them.

just say you had to use one from a friend at school cuz u leaked a little and that you really liked it alot better and that you wuold like to start using them instead of pads
Tell your mom that you are really looking forward to swimming this summer but you'll have to not swim for a whole week every month when you get your period. And then tell her, but if you wore tampons, you'd be able to swim and be active. It's not very difficult and not the least bit awkward. Just ask her to buy you tampons.
When no one was home but me and my mom I put on the sweet little girl loves her mommy act gave her a hug and just said calmly "I want tampons I hate pads"
Shes 50 and she NEVER used tampons shes afraid. The first thing she said was "Ugh....." But she made it sound like eww in her own specil way.

Well I was in a smiular position, except, I lost my mother so I chose on my own anyway, sometime when you notice your not busy and neither is your mom, just say to her, mom can we talk privately for a few minutes or so, And if you give her a time or something so that she knows to focus on you, then when you sit with her, just take a deep breathe and say mom, I know I have had my period for _ years and I use pads, but I would like try something new, I feel confident and ready, to try tampons if you will let me. I want to try them because I know summer will be around the corner before you know it and (maybe if you love to swim explain that you love swimming and you don't want to embarrass yourself with making the water red or something I don't know) some kind of conclusion of so mom, can I try them, And also maybe mention you happy to pay for part of it or something. Well, I've always bought my own tampons since I started last year (I'm 15 too) but my mom's dead so I never thought of a situation like this.
I think it would be best if you just buy your own if you can. If you can't buy your own, than just ask her, maybe like next time you are at the supermarket.
Honestly, I don't even see that it is even an issue. You want to use tampons instead of messy pads, so what? It's your period, what does she care how you want to deal with it?
You are best starting with lite (low absorbancy) tampons with plastic applicators because they are most comfortable to use. I use Playtex Gentle Glide but that's just my preference.

Okay Im 14 and use it and its so mcuh better. Just tell her that you hate pads adn how bulky they are and stuff and then just say can I use tampons now. She'll probably say yes since your already 15. I recomend playtrex Sport , its the best!
