1.always keep your hands clean! wash hands BEFORE using the bathroom in case of accidentally touching with unclean hands and aquiring god knows what from 100's of people!.
2.always wear clean underwear! ones with a cotton barrier on the inside are good for keeping you clean. if you need to wear (leather, vinyl) underwear that's fine, just try not to wear them for extensive amounts of time. you need to "breathe" down there!
3.after sex shower. OR you could get some kind of feminine wipes (girls normally use them for camping when they can't get to a shower for a while, which i also reccommend) although antibacterial soap is the best thing. also pat dry with a CLEAN towel. using a dirty towel down there is like not showering at all! also make sure if you are fooling around with someone and they are touching you down there make sure their hands are clean. if not, or if you don't know/didn't ask wash up afterwards.
4. if you notice an 'odor' from down there see a doctor. if you are afraid to go to your family doctor (for privacy reasons?) just find a planned parenthood clinic in your area. it's always free and they'll also check you for std's, aids and if you're pregnant. not to mention free condoms when you go! and NEVER be ashamed to tell a doctor your history or any questions you might have. they have heard way more disgusting things than you can ever tell them and it's not going to shock anyone.
5. ultimately, religeon is the worst thing for your vagina. never be ashamed of it or feel badly about it!

Well the basic stuff like wiping from front to back to keep feces from entering the vagina will help keep you from getting a yeast infection. Nothing that touches the anus should ever go into the vagina without being cleaned completely. Sugar is also bad for it because it can cause a yeast infection. Things like condoms and spermicides are ok because they are designed to go there. Read the directions and used properly they are very safe and effective.
