Discharge? Ovulation? How Long now?!

Question: Hi, =]

Im 14 and i havent gotten my periods yet and Im NOT sexually active.

Now, my question is, when you get lots of discharge and its very yellow/white how long is that along ovulation . Like how long till my acutal period occurs? I noticed a couple of weeks ago I got an extremely sharp pain to one side of my lower abdomen. I asked my mum and she said that I'll get my first period in about 14 days?

I tried finding some information on it.... The heavy discharge has stopped now and only went for about 2 days , theres not much its kind of clearer now.

Can anyone explain and give some information?

thanks XD

but you will most likely have this for quite some time before you get your first period. I had it for over a year. It means you're producing estrogen, but not enough to cause an ovary to release an egg and have a full cycle... or you may have ovulated 2 weeks ago and about to have your period at any minute. No way of knowing. The purpose of it is to help sperm survive as long as possible in the vagina so there's a better chance some will be there when you ovulate. It's not the vagina cleaning itself out like a lot of girls think, or you would have got it before puberty. discharge from the vagina cleaning itself out is an infection. Without cervical mucus, sperm can only survive 24-48 hours in the vagina but with it, it can survive up to 6 days.
