A doctor can only diagnose endometriosis definitely by laparoscopic surgery. They can tell you what it probably is by your symptoms and family history, but there's no test that will show it (ultrasound, CAT scan, MRI, blood testing all will not show endometriosis).
P.S. A Pap will NOT show endometriosis, either.
PAP test.

the doctor will probably do a laparoscopy. Its when they put you under anestisia (you will be asleep the whole time) and they make a tiny cut in your lower abdomind. They fill you up with a gas and then insert a small camera devise to look all around and see if you have the lesions that cause endometriosis. If he sees them, he may remove some of the lesions. Then you will wake up after surgury and go home the same day. GOod luck
Although most women are all too familiar with cramping and bloating, women with endometriosis tend to experience pain that can interfere with their relationships and everyday activities. Endometriosis is a curious gynecological condition that occurs when cells that normally line the inside of the uterus break away and seed somewhere else in the body where they don't belong
