Whats the chances I will be able to have children in the future?!

Question: Iv had my period for 2 years, it lasts for 4-6 weeks with 2-5 months in between each one, unless Im on the pill. I had blood tests done once I'd started the pill, and I had a high LH level, but I didn't have any cysts. The pill causes me horrible mood swings, so I might switch. Will I be able to ever have children? Im thinking no because I doubt I make eggs, and Im so irregular Im scared Ill never have children.

Sounds like your hormones are a bit all over the place, the hormones involved in ovulation are FSH and LH.

Both of these hormones are produced in the first half of your cycle, and they stimulate each other to produce more and more, however after approx 15 days (in a normal cycle) the LH levels spike and both LH and FSH are reduced substantially. after another 13 days or so, you get your period and the whole thing starts again.

When you are born your eggs are already stored in your ovaries, it just sounds to me like your hormones are preventing them from being released on a regular basis, this could be for a whole bunch of reasons, and the best thing is to see a specialist. You probably have as good a chance of a baby as anyone if you get your hormones sorted (which can be done)
good luck and best wishes.

That's a question, where only a doctor would know the answer. Ask your doc.

as long as you get your period you should be able to have children, but your periods are so strange im not sure you are ok. have you seen a doctor about the length of time you have and dont have it? plus you must be young if you have only had it for two years, it may become more regular as you get older.

i'd definately call a doctor
