Is this normal????? (kinda gross)?!

Question: -I had a mis-carriage on Jan. 31st.
-I then got on the depo shot to avoid having a child around xmas time.
-I got my period a couple weeks ago and started as spotting... DARK BROWN spotting! it was gross, almost looked like poop.
Then it went to a full on period (which I didnt think id get my period being on the shot). It lasted about a week but I am still spotting and again its that DARK BROWN color and its NASTY!!!!

Is this normal??? My periods before pregnancy lasted 4 days tops and this one has lasted me 1-2 weeks if I include the spotting and I am STILL spotting!!!!!!! I was only pregnant for 5 weeks..... is this normal after a miscarriage or being on the depo shot?

Brown discharge or blood is blood that has lost its hemoglobin, which indicates that it is old. This could be from after your miscarriage (I'm sorry to hear about that) and could also be part of breakthrough bleeding on the depo shot.

Just for peace of mind and to make sure it's nothing serious, I would recommend that you consult with your OB/Gyn to see what he/she says. If you don't want to go in for an appointment, maybe you want to phone his/her office and ask the medical assistant/nurse there what they think and whether it might be a good idea if you did go in for an appointment with your OB/Gyn.

Good luck :)

how old are you? when you reach your 40's and 50's your period turns dark brown which in that case means your period is ending.
