Birth Control and Constipation?!

Question: I know that pregnancy has a side effect of constipation. But i"m on birth control right now (been taking it for about 2 full months) and I have been constipated for 2 days. No other symptoms except I have a really bad case of allergies and my period should be starting soon. I've been pregnant before, but I just don't feel pregnant. (The last time I was, I knew it, and right now, i'm not even worrying because I'm quite sure I'm not pregnant, I just don't feel it. It's weird, I just know.). When I was pregnant, I was crampy, even through my legs, spotting, my breasts were so sore I couldn't touch them, and I was thoroughly exhausted and chronically constipated. I'm none of those, I've just been constipated, on and off for a few days. I'm wondering if the hormones in the birth control can alter how my digestive tract is working.

Thanks for any answers. Please be serious.

Just because your bowels have not worked for 2 days it does not mean that you are constipated. It is a fallacy that you have to go every day. If you are worried and there is probably no need eat lots of fresh fruit and salads. Or try Senna available from the local supermarkets or chemist. It will work overnight and is only natural ingredients.

It sounds like your just suffering from constipation, The pill could have done this but I doubt it, Plus it would have happened sooner, try Dulcalax its very good and if taken correctly wont give you the runs...

If the problem doesnt fix then I would go see your doc for tests.

hope you start to feel better soon:)
