Does going off the pill = increase in sex drive?!

Question: I started taking oral contraceptives when I was 16 and have stayed on them until now. I was never really that into sex and didn't think about it that much. I did, however, have a boyfriend for most of the time.
Now I'm single, have stopped taking the pill, and am much older (26). Honestly, I think about sex a lot these days, more than I ever. I feel like a 13 year old boy because it pops into my head 20 times a day. I don't mind :)
This IS a serious question because I'm curious whether its because I'm single, have been off the pill for 6 months, or whether its my biological clock. Or a combination of the 3.
What do you think? Does stopping oral contraceptives increase the sex drive in women?

Yes, it can.

Yes it can. Being on the pill changes your hormone levels. After being on the pill for extended periods of time can lower your free testosterone levels which can decrease your sex drive. If you were on them that long then it wouldn't surprise me at all if your testosterone and the binding globulins for it were surpressed. After you're off for a few months they'll balance back out and you'll have more of a sex drive... however your age does contribute also - a womans sexual peak is usually when they're entering their 30s so maybe yours is a little early.
