Period? I need good advice!?!

Question: I'm 12 and I think I got my period January 14 of this year. The thing is I don't know if I did. It only lasted two days and was really light. It only filled 1/2 of a regular tampon. I had bad back pain last month, but no period. Did I get my period?

Yes, you got your period! When you first start, it's not always regular. I got my first period when I was 12 and didn't get another one for almost a year.

Just a note - I hope you didn't keep that tampon in for the whole two days! Please keep in mind that tampons can cause toxic shock syndrome if left in for over 8 hours. You should change it more frequently than that, though.

Yes, you did. Your first year should be kinda light and short...most of the time. The first year is always abnomal.

Yes, I figure you did. The thing is that the first few can be very, very, VERY light and very, very, VERY irregular. It's not unusual to start for the first time, and then not have another one for a couple months. So don't worry...it happens to most of us girls :)

well i got my period when i was 13 and at first i had no cramps i didn't start to get them until my like 5th time of having it and if it was really light that doesn't matter. because everybody has a different "flow" some people are heavy and some only last about a day or two. and when you first get it, it will always be different, like on month you can get it really light and the next month it could be really heavy

yeap :))

dont worry you will know when the next one comes co get ready:))

If you bleed anything, then you did. I don't think the back pain is related to it (I haven't heard of anyone having back pains from periods), but when I first started I had very sore upper legs.

It's possible. Girl's your age get their first period all the time. It sounds like you got your period, it could be light or heavy, it could be a different flow every time you have your period. Just to be on the safe side or to be sure, you may want to ask your doctor or your mom or grandma. Whoever you are most comfortable with. If you do not want to talk about this with your mom or family member, you may be able to call your doctor on your own and tell her/him the situation. Good luck.
