i know exactly how you feel im just the same, its a real nightmare and no one seems to understand not even other women .i can be feeling fine one minute and the next i can be having a massive panic attack,or just not me if you know what i mean.thats not to mention the sore breasts and sweats i get,i have tried most things but havent found anything that works for me yet,my dr just tells me to do more exercise, sorry i cant help but i do sympothise.good luck

i cant say i do, i get insanly depressed before im due.

I would think hormones could be prescribed to you with better reults than anti-anxiety medication. talk to a gynecologist.

Yeah i kinda go through that too i go through like a stage or being kinda oaraiod which them makes me feel down i went to the doctors about it and she told me about some capsuals u can get to help ease frustration, depression, anxiety before your period

I have anxiety all the time...I was on zoloft 50 mg and it was great, like I was a completely different (better) person. I read a great book and depending on the type of anxiety you have, there are several coping strategies. I guess I need to know what you are anxious about before I can give you a complete answer?

Try midol, it might help. Alot of women have the same thing. People can usually tell by the way i'm acting, that its about that time.

you have been on Prozac far too long, get doc to wean you slowly off them and get your life on track, how do you now how you are if you are relying on tablets

Hormones are your best bet. They probably would even work better for you than anti-depressants in treating the more severe symptoms of your PMS. Talk to your doctor about the birth control pill. Some now, like Yaz, are designed specifically to treat symptoms of PMS (including anxiety) while also acting as an oral contraceptive. Discuss all your concerns with your doctor.

I get it too,my kids think I turn into the witch from the wizard of oz. I found eating a banana a day for the week before I am due helps as it is full of potassium, other than that I devour chocolate when it gets bad.
Hot baths and milky drinks and reading a book in bed help me sleep, and avoid watching horror films.
Try these before you end up relying on prescription drugs, prozac can become addictive.

For all pms symptoms b vitamins are useful - i suggest taking a supplement from about a week before you're period hopefully should reduce things. That and being consciously aware of the reason for your anxiety should hopefully help.

First of all, you are not alone. It is a hormone and chemical imbalance that causes this anxiety and it effects many, many women although it isn't usually discussed. The fact that you have been on prozac for that number of years and you still feel anxiety during this time is a signal to me that you may require a higher dose. 20mg is a very low dose, so don't feel alarmed that you may have to take more. Your body changes throughout your lifetime, your daily stress levels change and so does the chemistry in your body. I would talk to your doctor about it and ask you could try a higher dosage to see if it helps. I'm not sure that the sleeping pills will help in the long run as they just cover up the problem. Hope this helps!

I don't suffer from anxiety before my period but I do get very moody and shout at everyone.

ask george bush you guys did not elect him to choke on a pretzel.
