Why would anyone oppose someone else's personal decision to have an abortion!

Question: I happen to be a guy, but it's clear to me that what any woman does with her own body is a very private decision that is simply nobody else's darned business.....period. So why are some people so determined to stick their noses in where they really don't belong?

I struggle with this same thought.. l am sort of in the "If you don't like it, don't get one" mindset. I just can't comprehend how people can ban things like abortions and gay marriage just because they don't like them. I don't think that moral disapproval should be an adequate case against abortion because unlike pro-choice, pro-life restricts other people from doing what they think is okay. I don't know if I'm making much sense, but I just think that it's wrong to bar a woman from doing something within her own body. And to the person above, being pro choice doesn't mean you are pro-death, because I don't consider a fetus to be an independent being. So getting an abortion doesn't involve killing anything except potential, which isn't a crime... potential is killed every day in schools and in the workplace and pretty much everywhere.

Precisely. Some people see it as women go around having sex, getting pregnant and using abortion as their way out. That isn't always the case. They'll never ban abortion though so I'm not worried about it.
PRO CHOICE.
?

some folks have a deep and abiding belief that all life is precious, and they feel that aborting a human child is murder. This is one subject that the opposing parties are never going to come to agreement on.
Personally, I am pro choice, but I respect the rights of others who believe differently to believe as they wish.

People who are against abortion believe that killing a fetus is morally equivalent to killing a baby or another human being. If you thought a woman was killing her child, would you just say "oh well it's not any of my business"? No, and that's how the pro-lifers feel about abortion.

I'm trying to avoid taking a side here, but I think it's important for both sides to understand each other. It's not correct to say that pro-lifers are anti-choice just as it's not correct to say that pro-choicers are anti-life. What really differs is each side's definition of "life".

edit: to the person below, that's exactly what I said!

Some people feel that they have the right to regulate how other people can live. Others know that they don't.

i am pro choice, but maybe think about it this way...
not that i think an abortion is abusing a fetus, but what if a neighbour was abusing their dog, maybe you would want to help even if it wasn't yours....
it's human nature to intervene when we see something we think to be wrong. but when it comes down to it, the woman has to live with her decision. the strangers who object won't have to care for her children, won't help her through the pregnancy so they dont get a say....

If you're not pro-life, then you're pro-death...period.

I could care less what any woman does with HER body, but when it brings ANOTHER life into the picture through pregnancy, then she needs to step up and take responsibility.
