Discharge...weird color?!
Question: i think i may be getting my period for the first time. i noticed it about last week. i was useing the bathroom & after i wiped this gross redish brown stuff came out. now thats been happening alot lately BUT ITS GETTING WORSE i have to change my underwear like 2 or 3 times a day because my discharge is like BLACK? is it the starting of my period? i havent gotten cramps or anything? or should i go to my doctor & get it checked?

wow that sounds like your getting your period but its not suppose to last for days but since its your first time i guess thats how its going instead of changing your underwear why dont you get panty liners they are like less then a dollar for a pack in cvs rite aid etc and not everyone gets cramps i hardly ever get cramps but when i do get them i get them bad but like once every 6 months or so

Hey ! hope your doing alright. Things like this can be normal or not. It might be a good thing to get it checked by the doctor. Not to scare you; but when I had really dark discharge. I had a cyst on my ovary. I do not believe it should be black; so just get it checked. I am sure you are fine! =]
idk but wear pads so you stop getting the stuff in your underwear
i think it might be. congealed blood is black.tell your mother or show her, but im pretty positive that its your period.
Yes It may be dark blackish red at first.If your 12 or older you most likely started your period.You should go buy some pads and wear them until it stops.
First period blood is "black" or very very dark...what you are having is discharge mixed with blood that is why it is black! You should be starting very soon!!!
Sounds like you are starting your cycle. It will probably be o.k but you should wear a pad and it may last several days and then come again next month. I skipped a few months after the first time then it came regular and lasted up to 5 days .I never had much trouble with cramps thak God but a lot of my friends did

your body will get used to it i guess.
every female has a different cycle for her body.
if it lasts for more than 2weeks get it checked out.. i would notify your parents however [now] to let them buy you female products for your period.

It's your period. Instead of changing your underwear, tell your mom about this and ask her to help you pick out some pads. You can change those instead of your underwear. Since it's your first one, you probably won't have cramps, a lot of girls don't for their first one.
I wouldn't try using a tampon just yet, pads are safer and easier to use for awhile.
The black stuff is oxygenated blood, it's nothing to worry about.

not everyone has cramps or pms- i didnt.
but the dark stuff is most likely just thick blood. have you talked to your mom about this yet? i suggest that and then start wearing pads or tampons(you might want to start with pads) so you dont ruin anymore undies.

Blood isnt actually RED until it hits oxegyn(sp).
Its actually a dark deep colored purple.
So no worries.
And yea its your period use a PAD OR A TAMPON.
Sounds like you might be having your first period! You don't always get cramps, it's not always common first time and you might find you get them some years later. I didn't have cramps until a few years after I started, it's different with every girl.
It's nothing to worry about, just stock up on sanitary towels and see your doctor if you're worried about anything. Or your school nurse will be able to help you with stuff.
