Ortho tri-cyclen vs.Ortho tri-cyclen lo?!

Question: What would be the reasons for someone to want lower or higher doses of estrogen? Like, if you start on the lo version, what side effects would cause the doctor to bump you up to the regular ortho? Or vice versa... Thanks!

I personally need the higher maintained dose. When I tried the LO, I had spotting the entire six months before switching back. It just wasn't for me.
