Yes it would help you. Why don't you buy some now and have a practice - try the ones that come with the applicator too? Enjoy your holiday and don't let your period spoil your fun!

umm yea sort of

Yeah it will aslong as you change it befor you go swimming otherwise it could leak if its been in for a long time sorry to much info haha good luck!

If you go to the doctors he can give you a pill to take to put it off for a week or so (not the contreceptive pill). this is what i did and it worked fine.

if not, tampons are very easy to use, every box comes with a leaflet telling you how to use them. just make sure you change them regularly to avoid leakages!

Yeah..definitely use the tampon. You can practice w/ one before you go on vacation and then you will be a pro!

Using tampons is one option, to be honest given the risks of tampons and inconvenience you may be better looking at other options.

If you do use tampons it is best that you use organic tampons such as Natracare http://www.natracare.com or Cottons http://www.cottons.au which you can get from large Boots stores the same as commercial tampons - organic tampons are safer because they are made from 100% organic cotton and do not contain bleach or chemicals as commercial tampons like Tampax do (as a note, Tampax can also cause cramping more than tampons can generally. They are made by rolling cotton/rayon fleece horizontaly, they thus expand witdthways as well as lengthways so can hit your cervix which is already sensitive).

All tampons come with instructions for how to use them, or you can look online for instructions if you want to know now how to use them. It can help a lot if you lay on your back on your bed, and relax before inserting - masturbation before you put tampons in can help too as it will relax you, enlarge your vagina and lubricate your vagina, if you need additional lubrication you can use KYJelly or even olive oil can be used as a safe natural lubricant.

DO NOT practice using tampons before hand if you are not menstruating, using tampons when not on your period can cause more vaginal splitting than normal increasing your risk of infections and TSS.

You would be better off using a menstrual cup because they are much safer and cleaner than tampons. Menstrual cups can be worn for up to 12 hours at a time safely without leaking, you wouldn't need to worry about finding room in your suitcase or buying spares when on holiday, nothing shows on the outside of your body to show up through your swimsuit, they also won't soak up pool/sea water and are easier to use. You can get reusable options such as Mooncup http://www.mooncup.co.uk or Divacup http://www.divacup.com or disposable softcups such as Instead http://www.softcup.com

You can practice using a menstrual cup before you have your period because they are not absorbant like tampons so won't damage your vagina. They also have money back guarentees so you can try them and send them back if you don't like using them, so it costs nothing to try them.

You could always induce your period before your holiday, a week or so before your holiday as long as you have at least two weeks of uterus lining (in other words, two weeks since your last period) then you can bring on your period early. It's simple to do, and as long as you don't do it all the time it is perfectly safe, women have been doing it for hundreds of years.

The easiest way of inducing is to use parsley, parsley is mild emmenagogue as it relaxes the cervix to allow release of menstrual material. Fresh herbs are best
