You are normal.

Once you start puberty a white and/or clear, non-foul smelling discharge (mucous) is normal. The vagina is self-cleaning. You will also have your own 'scent' (musky) and it will smell stronger to you than to others. This same discharge increases the closer you get to ovulation and when you are sexually aroused. Trust me, you don't ever want it to go away.

Different Types of Discharge:

White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.

Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.

Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.

Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.

Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.

It just sounds like a little discharge. Its normal. Just pop on a little panti liner. Hope that helps.

As you get older you'll find you secrete a little, some girls a bit more, some less, a discrete liner is all you need if you're worried about it. It can change a bit as you go through your monthly cycle too but what you describe sounds quite normal. If it turns a funny colour or smells strange it can be a sign of infection. Just part of the wonder of being a woman!

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
Sorry that was imature. I do apologise.

It's most likely a sign that you will be getting periods soon. You should use pantiliners if the discharge is enough to get your underwear wet. Another good thing about wearing pantiliners is that if your period does start suddenly at school you'll have some protection against stained pants.

If the discharge is smelly or if you start to itch, you might have a yeast infection (which you can get at any age, it is NOT a std and not something to be embarassed about). Yeast infections are treated with OTC creams inserted into the vagina, but usually the first yeast infection should be diagnosed by a doctor.

I was in year 9 when i got mine every girl is different and i got the mucassy stuff to its just your body changing and your period will probably be along soon enough :)

also periods not so great enjoy your time without them.

It's just discharge. It may be the start of your first period!
