Answers: What Tampons You're Going To Use..Like What Kind Do You Need For Your Flow Of blood Etc

First of all if you are going to use tampons over other products such as sanitary towels or menstrual cups you need to at least opt for organic tampons or sponge tampons to reduce your risk of TSS and vaginal infections.

http://www.cottons.au - Cottons organic tampons
http://www.tampontification.com - Tamponification organic tampons
http://www.natracare.com - Natracare organic tampons
http://www.jadeandpearl.com - Jadea & Pearl sponge tampons

This is because commercial tampons such as Tampax are made from synthetics, contain bleach and chemicals. Chemicals throw off the healthy balance of 'good' and 'bad' bacteria within your vagina, the synthetics absorb more of the vaginal fluids needed to protect the walls of your vagina from splitting, and give bacteria a better environment to multiply upon. See the tampon health web site - http://www.spotsite.org

When it comes to flow you should get the lowest absorbency for your flow, again this is because too high an absorbency increases your risk of infections and TSS - higher absorbency means more bacterial growth and vaginal splitting.

Start with the very lowest absorbency, you should change your tampons every 4-6 hours, if you need to change more often than that then move up to the next highest absorbency. If you find the tampons aren't filled with blood when you remove them then you know to go to a lower absorbancy tampon.

You will need a few different absorbency's because as your flow changes throughout your period then you will need to change how absorbent the tampons you use are. Remember never use tampons when not on your period, don't use tampons at night and don't use when you are very light.

Depends on how heavy your flow is. Thats why they now make the multi-packs. Most girls start out slow and use regulars, and at some point during theyre cycle will need to use super or super plus. You'll get it right after the first few cycles when you use them. Everybody is different and you know your body best. Good luck!

Go for the top absorbency then work your way down.
Better safe than sorry.

You should not go for the top absorbancy this can lead to an increased risk of TSS.
Use a regular one, then if you need to change it more often than every 4-8 hours use a higher absorbancy one.
Read the leaflet carefully about TSS

Well you need to know what your flow is. If you are wearing a sanitary towel and you need to change it more then once in an hour to 2 hours, you may need a heavier flow tampon and vice versa. if you are wearing a normal flow tampon you being to 'leak' into your knickers after an hour or so, you need a heavier flow tampon. If parts are still white when you remove it after a couple of hours to 4 hours, you are using one that is for a heavier one and need to swap for a lighter flow one. it's VERY simple lol good luck :D

Firstly make sure you have had your periods for at least a year before using tampons. Secondly the labels on the pack let you know which ones are right for which flow.

Get the pack that has the different sizes for different times of the period, that way you can work out whether you have a light, medium or heavy flow and don't have to buy 3 different packs.

It really is trial and error, make sure you use pantyliners whilst you are experimenting xxx
