I have a really important question, please try to answer!?!

Question: Hey ya'll,
Okay so for the past month and a half or so I've had a really distended abdomen (I look about 4 months pregnant), I've pretty much lost my appetite, I've had pretty bad abdominal and back pain, and I've been exhausted. I went to my doctor and he did a CT to look for ovarian cancer. It came back that I have what appears to be multiple cysts or follicles and advised that if I have symptoms pertaining to that specific area (which I do) I should further my tests with a pelvic ultrasound. However, my doctor just said that it was no big deal and gave me pain medication to help with the pain. My CT also showed that I have pretty bad constipation, which has gone unnoticed ot me. My doctor believes that may be the cause of my abdomen swelling. Constipation is also a symptom of ovarian cancer, though. So, my question is: Do you think I should listen to my doctor and just take the pain medicine, or do you think I should be seeking a second opinion?

Second opinion. Definitely.

While it is possible that your doctor is right and you are completely fine, it can never hurt to get another professional to take a look. Bring all of your test results with you when you find someone. Your health is very important, no sense risking it!! If the second doctor says you are fine than you can celebrate that you are healthy and no harm done.

Personally I think you should get a second opinion. It couldn't hurt and better safe than sorry.

i would deffinatly get a second opinion if there is a doubt in your mind, you never know what might happen. maybe you can see the dr your sister goes to.

i wish you the best

You need a second opinion! If for anything else, peace of mind. Maybe you could try a colon cleanse to help with distended abdomen. i just did dr natura's colonix, but there are tons of others out there.

If you have health insurance, there's no harm in getting a second opinion just in case. If you're at all worried it would be worth it for your piece of mind, especially since cancer runs in your family.

did he make a follow up apt every six months to keep an eye on it?
I know I had the same thing and my doctor did nothing just had me see him every six months... and now everything is fine.

If you are even questioning your doctor, get a second opinion. This is your health you are talking about.

Get a second opinion from another doctor whom your friends and family recommend.

Get a second opinion. That way if you have something, you can be treated properly.

go to the doctor he/she will now best if u dont you'll never know wat u have.......

I would seek a second opinion without hesitation

Like many other ppl have said get a second opinion. Or as many as you need to have peace at mind. My mom had breast cancer a couple years back and she got as many opinions as she could just to make sure.

GET A SECOND OPINION. This is something you do not want to sweep under the carpet. You really need to get this sorted out. Especially if you are young and plan to have a family. This may prevent that happening. You don't want to be on painkillers for months and then find out that things have become worse. This is your life you are dealing with. Please please please go and get a second opinion. You probably should see a specialist. For this you might need to get a referral from a doctor. Take care of yourself. You only have one life.

IT never hurts to get a second opinion, trust me my cousin didn't when she was really sick and she paid for it big time. She has uterine cancer and is suffering a lot. I'M not trying to scare you I just don't want someone else to suffer when they can catch whatever is going on and fix it before it gets out of hand.

Best of luck!
