And they aren't really "tied", so I've read. They're cut or cauterized (burned) thus removing the access to the ovaries.

2. Hysterectomy. (taking out all the baby making girly stuff.)
There are varying levels.. total or partial hysterectomy.. they can remove ALL or just SOME of the baby making girly stuff thus preventing pregnancy. (depending on which, you can still get a period though.)
She can have her tubes tied. Or also a hysterectomy but that's where they take everything out and it's usually not by choice.
