Everyone's hymen is different, some are thicker and some are thinner (and some women are born without one), some cover the vagina only partially, and some completely. It can stretch, but just how much depends on the way it's 'built'.
But generally they do stretch & move, so they are thinner, but it varies from person to person.

i actually dont know...

Thin is a relative term, and everyone's is different. But you have to think of something a little thicker than paper, and also remember it may not be the same thickness at all points.

i mean, its tissue, so its not "paper thin"...

It doesn't cover your opening, because you can still insert tampons and that won't always break it.

Usually it's more like a thin ring of tissue. It rarely covers the opening; if that was the case, menstrual blood couldn't get past it. The thickness varies from person to person. In rare cases, it has to be cut by a doctor before intercourse can occur.

it's quite thin, but sometimes in some cases of women they are elastic, and won't break when you have intercourse for the first or first few times.
it's nothing to be worried about though.

the thickness of the hymen depends on ppl. some ppl has hymen so thin that it breaks easily when they ride bikes or horses. some has it so thick that it wouldnt break they first time they have sex. that's wat i read, idk for real. why does it matter. dont mess with it so much down there, it can get infected :-S

Yes it is thin, it has to be thin to break when you have sex with a male. For some girls it may bleed and hurt the first couple of times you have sex, but for some girls it doesnt hurt at all or bleed. But yes it is a think piece of tissue.

I just had to make a comment-
Why is it that all the good right answers are from men?

That just is... weird.

But to answer your question, sometimes people are born with thick ones. No one, ever, is the same.
