How long after sex would it be safe to remove the nuvaring?!

Question: I've been on the nuvaring for about 17 days now & the last time I had sex was 3 or 4 days ago. I find the nuvaring to be very uncomfortable & I would like to know when I can remove it completely. I don't plan to continue on with this method of birth control and I don't plan to have sex again until I am on another type. I'm just wondering if it's safe to remove it earlier than after 3 weeks.

I didn't like it either. You can remove it before the 3 weeks are up but it will cause you to start your period. Also, you would have the first month on your new method, when you should use another method because you won't be fully protected.

the only reason that that should be uncomfortable is if it is not in properly. just try to wait it out. or try to adjust it to make it more comfortable until your next period.

Just wait..

call your gyno and report that it is uncomfortable, they may tell you to go ahead and take it out.

Read the directions. You're fine to take it out now.
