Reacurring Bacterial Infection?!

Question: I've had a bacterial Infection for about a year now. At first they prescribed me metranodizole (not sure if thats spelled right) and it went away fine. 6 months later I got it again and she prescribed me the same stuff, and this was about 3 weeks ago. After my recent period (last week) I began having like a white discharge & itching. Normally, I know when i have a bacterial infection, mainly because of the smell, I never have an itch, but just a yellowish discharge and HORRIBLE smell. So after the first day it was white and thick and itchy. Now, two days later, its yellowish, smells and itches like crazy. I called my doctor to get a new prescription filled, but am I missing something here? She asked me if theres a chance i could have an STD and i told her no. (I've been with the same partner for 4 years and its a female, she has no signs and i KNOW she isnt cheating) We live together, are very happy sexually, and emotionally, and its are together a LOT. So don't suggest that, please.

I can only imagine how uncomfortable you must be. Even if you and your partner have been together for years and there is no infidelity, you should still go and be check for an STD. Knowledge is power, and I'm sure you would do anything for this to go away. Try not to douche, because your vagina has a way of cleaning itself and douching could eventually make the infection works. I assume you are taking the medicine as prescribed, and abstaining from sex until your done with it? Also, if toys are being brought into the bedroom for sexual enjoyment, make sure you are cleaning them after each use. Wear cotton panties instead of thongs when possible, as little things like that make a big difference in how much bacteria can live inside of you down there. Hope all this helps, but just relax and know that a lot of women are just prone to bacterial infections and they can come and go all the time. If all else fails and it seems to becoming worse, talk with your doctor or get a second physicians opinion a.s.a.p!

I have the exact same problem where I get the infections over and over agian. I don't have the same symptoms as you but what your saying now white and itchy sounds like a yeast infection. If its burning when you go to the bathroom or if it starts to feel raw thats what it is but you can go to the doctor or buy over the counter stuff (it does work just go for the 7 day stuff trust me)
But if it is still a bacteria infection ill tell you what every doctor has told me some people are just more prone to getting them. I know its aggravating but I've reached the point where the will no longer prescribe antibiotics for me. Instead they had me try this stuff call replens which you can buy at cvs its only 15 dollars for 28 of them. Basically this stuff helps you get back to your normal ph level it has really helped me.

First, you cant trust "signs". The only way to know if you have an STD is to be tested. Second, Unless you see a piece of paper that says your partner doesnt have anything you dont know for sure. Unfortunately this is the world we live in now. Its not that you dont trust her, its because it will clear your mind. You only go by word of mouth. You should get tested just to clear your mind and be healthy.

If you have a reaccuring bacterial infection you need to find out where the infection is coming from. I was on that medication and it is mild. If it is reaccuring, it means the infection is still there however your symptoms are subdided. You need something stronger. You need to get a medication that is stronger that will knock out your infection completely. You have a yeast pproblem, but antibiotics will cause thrush sometimes. It has happened to me. I had it in my mouth and i had a yeast infection as well. Get thrush medication, its a nasty thick yellowish green liquid but makes it go away.
