Should I get my tubes tied?!

Question: Im 27 & have a 4 yr old son.
My son's father has truly messed up my head b/c I dont want to have to go through what I went through with him, with another person. Is that normal? I can honestly say that I dont want more children. But yet, I think back to my pregnancy & see how horrible I was treated. If I was with someone that truly cared about me, wouldnt the pregnancy with him be different?
I just think I should get them tied.

What's it like?
Mentally & Physically

We got to believe there is a ray of hope that you will find a partner worthy of you and your son. As long as there is a chance of that happening, please use other forms of contraceptives. At 27 there is lots of time for your life to take a positive turn. There is a good chance you will regret it if you get it done and nothing to lose if you don't. You can always have surgery in your later 30s if you feel it's time. Spend your time and energy on being the best mother in the world, it's hard when your self-esteem has been beaten down, but rise above and teach all you can teach to your son not to turn out like you know who...teach him caring...respect...to stand on his own...confidence and compassion...a good woman like yourself will be thankful one day of how well her husband/your son turned out :)
Heal your heart but don't close the door !

if this is what you want then you should do it
however it is permant some can be undone if they arent burnt
make sure your just not going through a depressing monment

You're way too young to get your tubes tied. Remember this is a permanant decision. You never know what the future brings. You might meet someone new and decide to have another child with them.

Once you get them done there's no going back and you wont be able to go down that road with a new partner which could be very tough for you both.

It's hard that you've gone through such a bad time with your previous partner, but this doesnt mean that from now on all you're going to experience is being messed around.

Instead of such a severe solution, why not go for a reliable long term contraceptive such as a mirena or a copper coil. These can stay in place for 5-10 years respectively, they are nearly 100% effective but are a less drastic from of preventing pregnancy.

Id think very very carefully about your choice. And i can say that all the doctors you talk to will really try to persuade you not to go ahead with getting tied right now.

I would advise against it.

i've had mine done but I have three little boys. I would do whatever you feel. Don't base it on your pregnancy though-decide if you want more children. Pregnancy is a small short time, the child will be here for life.

I don't think you should, because you are young, and you may fall in love with a sweet handsom fellow that would love to have a child with you, and you couldn't if your tubes are tied, if you were older, I would say yes, but at your age, I would definitely say no, the next husband could treat you like a queen, then you would regret having them tied, good luck.

i havent done it but my mom did. im 13 now and she is always says how she wishes she could have another baby. i think she was happy she did it than but is just in a like a phase i think but she seems to really want a baby. im not sure if its just because me and my lil bro are getting older but not even old enough to have a baby. i think if you were with someone who cared about you it would be a lot better experince (sorry idk how to spell it)
