HPV and afraid.?!

Question: I recently posted that I have HPV the doctor says that i have the kind that can turn cancerous, i would'nt be as concerned as i am if cancer didnt run in my family but the truth is that more than a few family member have passed away due to cancer, including cervical, and to top it all off i might be pregnant. Does anyone have advise for me or has actually got cervical cancer from HPV?

HPV is a virus that you get from sex...
i know if they catch it earlier they can do cryosurgery and you'll probably be ok, this is where they freeze part of your cervix..
as far as being prego too...make sure you follow exactly what the doctor says...
you might even want to get HPV dna testing done, which can tell you if you also have the strain that can cause genital warts, that strain RARELY(and i cant stress rarely enough) can cause lesion in the childs vocal chords, that can be cured with surgery..
just keep talking to your doctor..and dont stress its bad for the baby

Just a few abnormal paps that come and go. So then I go to a specialist for some other exam. But by then, what ever problem has faded. If you're pregnant, it shouldn't affect anything, but make sure your doc knows, just in case. After that, just keep up with the annual paps and any problems should be caught in time. Good luck.

i have HPV and have had it for 2 years and i hae the non cancerous cells but i heard that if you get checked for cancer on a regular basis and one of those times you ucually do have it they can remove it so if you are able to go to your doctor every six months to get checked i dont think it should be a problem

HPV is very common and it can cause cancer. Just be sure to get a pap every year..if it turns to cancer they can catch it early. People do survive cancer. Try to calm down and take one year at a time.

If they catch it early they can fix it. If you don't have cancer yet you probably won't b/c they did catch it early. I have HPV I went to the doc all the time it seemed so they could watch it b/c mostly it just goes away on its own. But mine didn't. So they did a leep procedure wich means they cut out the bad cells and now I'm fine. No biggy. Really if you get your anual pap every year, they will catch it early and they will tell you to come back more often if they feel it is necessary. And if it is they just watch and if they need to they just cut it out. Its really easy procedure in office. Not much pain. You will be okay honey. Don't worry just trust your doctor to take care of you. I had cervical displasia before they removed it so really cancer takes a long time to actually be there. Just make sure you follow your docs orders and don't smoke.

Fruits and vegetables - Higher levels of vegetable consumption were associated with a 54% decrease risk of persistence. Consumption of papaya at least once a week was inversely associated with persistent HPV infection.

just keep talking to your doctor. that's the best thing that you can do. if it was caught early, the chances of being cured are good. as for a pregnancy, again talk to your doctor. i would think that you would be able to have the baby and deliver by C-section so you wouldn't pass it on to your baby.

I have HPV (same strain as you do) I was diagnosed with it about 5 years ago. I have 2 healthy happy children (twins they are 18 months old now, and NO I didn't use any fertility treatments.)

I know how scary it can be when they tell you that you have HPV and that it 'causes' cancer. I was scared out of my MIND. Here's a little article about how/why it causes cervical cancer.

I would recommend reading up a LOT on HPV, that's what I did and it really eased my mind.
I wish you the best of luck, and if you are pregnant (CONGRATS!!) and as far as I know, it shouldn't effect your pregnancy at all.
