Question about breast reduction surgery?!

Question: I got a breast reduction in August and I still don't have any feeling in my breasts at all. I knew that was a side effect but my dr. said that was normal for about 6 months...i'm a little worried I'll never get the feeling back *note I do have feeling in my nipples, I have never had children, and i am 20*

That is unfortunate. It's a bit odd that you do have feeling in your nipples but not other places. (I'm guessing that they didn't have to move them).

I'd recommend having a thorough evaluation by your surgeon or regular doctor to see if there are any small areas with feeling. It will be a long exam. They should test areas approximately 2 cm away from each other over the entire surface of each breast, the area between, above, and below the breasts (a few inches) and in your axillae (armpits). This will allow them to see if the numbness is truly throughout, or just follows a large nerve distribution.

The problem may also be in the skin, but not deep down. There are maneuvers that can determine this.

Also, the 6 month "rule" is an average. Some regain feeling much quicker, while others can take a year or longer.

Best of luck.

well this is a question l can`t help you with

It can take up to or over a year to get sensation back in your breasts.
