Weight Watchers!?!

Question: So I went to sign up for weight watchers online. And I typed up all my information, then they didn't let me join because I am under 18. I am 15, 16 in a few months.

I know a girl on weight watchers who was 17? She still is on weight watchers though...

I don't get it, this isn't fair! lol

If I lie and say I am 18 is this ok? Will I harm my body?

Oh I am 5'7 and 180 pounds. I am not one of those 100lbs girls who thinks shes fat. lol

One of the reasons why you might not be able to sign up online is that they might have a certain required age of 18. And probably because they might think that for people under that age could have different food/caloric requirements.

I'm part of Weight Watchers, and i go to the meetings every week. One of the reason why i keep going back is because of the leader - she's spectacular! I'd have to ask her why people under 18 wont be able to sign up.

And does your friend go to meetings, or is she registered online? That might be a factor in it too. Maybe what you could do is submit a question through the Weight Watchers website and ask them why you can't sign up. The answers here would just be other people's thoughts/opinions of why you can't - but you should really contact Weight Watchers thru their site and find out from them.

As for maybe lieing about your age - i really wouldn't because then they might caculate things different for someone that would be 18.

i say go for it...weight watchers isnt really a diet...its more of a lifestyle change, and Ive heard its the only one that actually allows you to lose weight and to keep it off.

I agreed with Tink - Weight Watchers is a lifestyle change. If nothing else, you will lear healthy eating habits that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

Go for it!

maybe you can't join the weight watchers on line...but go to www.sparkpeople.com....it is a great weightloss site with a lot of info...(even weightwatchers....)....the main thing is with you still being young and growing you have certain nutrient needs that have to be met....such as calcium and i think that is why WW shys away from the younger crowd....but this other website has teen groups and all....ck it out and i think you will enjoy it....you can still follow a weight watchers based program (personally i love it....)....hang in there and take care
