I took my birth control pill at 8.45 then threw up (not intentionally) a half ho!

Question: what should i do? do you think the pill is in my system or did i probably throw it up?

It depends alot on the type of pill you took in general with Plan B and other pills if you vomit within the first hour you need another. That being said normal birth control gains it effect over a period of time if you have been taking it for at least one month and missed only one pill this cycle you should be fine but it is always best to check with the Pharmacy or M.D. that dispensed/perscribed the medication.

I takes 20 minutes to 2 hours for stomach contents to transit into intestines. Considering you threw up a half hour after you took the pill... the chances are good that the pill is history. It probably didn't get digested/absorbed.

I believe the packaging says if you vomit or have diarrhea after taking your pill, that you should use a back up method of contraception for the remainder of the pack. I'm not entirely sure, but I think I remember reading that.

In any case, the paper that came with your pills should tell you what to do. I know it's covered. If you don't have the package anymore, you can google your pill type and read it online.

You likely threw it up. If you vomit within 2 hrs of taking it, take another. And/or use a backup method when having sex.
