How long do periods last for?!
Question: i'm not talking about how many days it lasts for ,i want to know when you start menopause? do your periods last longer than 10 years? so say you got your period when you were 12 how old would you be when you didn't get your periods anymore?

ok just like when you start your period you have diffrent times than other girls you stop the same way but mainly its between 36 and 60 but hey there was this woman who stopped at 90 so it rly rly differs! my grandma stopped at 34 and my mom stopped at 54 so its crazy u cant even refer to your mother any more !!

menopause usually hits at the age of 50 year olds, which would then mean your periods would gradually stop occurring.
There are other ways in which you can temporarily stop periods, by contraceptive measures, which if you were considering doing so, you would need to speak to your doctor.
Every woman's body is different. Chances are if you are under 40 you are not going to be in menopause. There are cases of early menopause that can start in the early twenties, but that usually is a symptom of a bigger problem. You can't really say that every woman has a period for ten years. I started when I was 10 and I am now 26, I am no where near menopause. If you are skipping periods or having symptoms of menopause at any age under 40 you should be seen by a physician soon. This could be symptoms of endometriousis, pregnancy, even cervical cancer.
My menopause started when I was 32 years old but it varies in all women. A rough estimation would be when your mothers menopause started. My mothers started when she was 34. Also menopause can last quite a few years, I was 44 when mine stopped all together, but again this can be different for most women. Best thing to do if your are worried about this is to go and see your doctor.
