I'm not sure about breast sizes?!

Question: I am 17 years old and my bra size is 38 i. Is that bad? And if so, how long should I wait to get a reduction? My mom says it's bad but I have just learned to deal with the pain.

You should talk to your doctor now about a reduction. An I is pretty big, how is the back pain?

I was a 38J and went to a 38C in Feb 2006 (insurance covered it 100%!!).

You don't HAVE TO live with the pain! I had no pain after my surgery. It would greatly benefit you.

That is your rib cage size, not your breast size. What is your cup size?? If you ever want to breastfeed your children, wait to get a reduction. Also, your breasts will grow when you have babies, so it would likely have to be repeated.

ummmmmm........... that's not possible......

its not bad, i mean its really your choice

This is normal, all people develop at different times and you have just developed early. Remember people come in all shapes and sizes =]. About the reduction its up to you, but if it is causing you back problems then thats probably the way to go. Just make sure you talk to you doctor and think it through before you decide upon getting it done, hope this helps

I didn't even know 'i' was a size!! I imagine you are very well endowed and must be having some bad back problems. I say wait until you are at least eighteen for the reduction, you shouldn't have to live with pain if you don't have to. Think about it, you have a full life ahead of you and you should be able to enjoy it to the fullest. There are a lot of things people with serious back pain can't do as well as women with a large chest. You're too young to be living with pain plus you should enjoy life the anyway you want with no unnecessary restrictions.

oh, i wish people could not worry about it! its totally fine. i'm 14 and a 36F here. love your body, its yours and unique!

Is it in porportion with your weight,(are you over weight). Your concern might be your cup size (A thru whatever) that is what they reduce. My cousin was17 yrs old and a 32DD, meaning she was skinny with huge breast, she was able to get a reductuion paid for by the state, because she was to slim to carry those DD's and it caused her back pain.
If you are overweight losing weight can sometimes reduce both your bra and your cup size

Gross. Maybe you should get a reduction. I never heard of anyone having an I cup!

Size 38 means your circumference around your back. Your actual breast size is your cup size usually A,B,C,D etc. Size 38 means you have a wide back like I do but I have a small cup size A or nearly B so it's really difficult for me to find bras my size. Sounds like you have the opposite problem. You'll have to decide what cup size you are and what cup size you want to be. If you're in pain over this you will need to do your research and get a good plastic surgeon when the time comes. You can start preparing now and perhaps save up the money to have the surgery when you are ready. Good Luck!
