Birth control and starting my period?!

Question: I already asked this question yesterday but i got hardly any answers. I started on birth control about a month and a half ago (Yaz bc) and my first period on it was 13 days long. I am late for my period now. I was suppose to start on the 11th. So like i said i was suppose to start on the 11th but at that time, on the the 11th, i had 6 pink pills left till i got to my white pills. I am wondering, is my period still trying to regulate itself? Am i suppose to start my period when i start my white pills (which is the pill with no hormones in it, its just to remind me every day to continue taking it)? Whats going on...i'm now four days late but i have two more pills till i get to the white ones. I am so confused!

First of all, your period usually should be shorter, not longer on pills. That's strange to me...but you are so early, that your body is probably still regulating.

As for when you should start---this should usually be during the last week of the pill pack (the placebo/reminder pills) regardless of when you would have started w/o being on pills. The hormones in your pills are what will be regulating your period now.

I'm having nearly the same problem as we speak! I've been on Yaz for only a little while (this is only my second pack) and my period is not going away! I was scared that I was pregnant but I've been careful so I'm 99% sure I'm not. If you figure things out, will you let me know? I'd really appreciate it because I'm wondering if maybe something is up with Yaz that we all weren't aware of. Good luck to you.
