Do i have a UTI?!

Question: So just a few days ago it started to hurt when i peed and there was small amounts of blood. I've been peeing a lot more than usual. It's fine when i first pee but at the end it hurts a lot, but its not a stinging pain persay. I'm not sure how to describe it. My period ended about a week ago so i know it's not period blood. Also i'm on birthcontrol and i know that is sometimes a side affect but i've been on it for over a year now and i've never had this problem before. I read simillar situations and it sounded like i might have a UTI. i just went out and bought cranberry juice... i heard that helps. Also im 2,000 miles away from home and my doctor... this is the first time i moved out and i've been gone for only 2 months... i don't want my mother to find out and not let me live outside her home so doctor is kindof a last resort.

you need antibiotics. I get at least one a year...and I have tried EVERYTHING to avoid going to the doctor. Nothing works. Antibiotics are it. If you let it go too long without treatment...the pain will get worse. It will start causing serious stomach pains. I don't think you're mom will blame you for getting a UTI. I hope you start feeling better.

sounds like a uti
i think cranberry juice isnt worth the time
just drink alot of water and see a doctor

it is UTI Stay away from cranberry juide as it causes stones (ask your doctor). Drink lots of water but ask your doc for Lexoquin or Cipro and take urelle for the pain all prescription drugs

Cranberry juice and plenty of water, if it persists you will need an anit-biotic.

This sounds like a UTI - which isn't going to go away with just cranberry juice. If you don't have a regular doctor, find a walk-in clinic in your area. They should be able to help you. Leaving the UTI will make things much worse for you, so please seek treatment as soon as you can.
Getting a UTI doesn't mean you can't live on your own - lots of people get them, I've had a particularly nasty one before. It just means bacteria has targeted your urinary tract and they're going to town. It's not always preventable, they happen, and they're easily treatable - but you will need medication to do it. Cranberry juice will only help you ward off potential infections, not heal a current one.

Yes, it sounds like a UTI. I actually just asked this question the other day because I was having the same symptoms, minus the pain while urinating.

I don't have health insurance yet, as I've just started my new job so I just bought some AZO cranberry pills (because I don't like cranberry juice) and drank LOTS of water....and when I say "lots", I mean LOTS!!! I've drank about 2 gallons of water each day for the past 3 days. Yes, I've been peeing lady a madman, but it has really helped me.

So, I would suggest trying the AZO pills (you can buy at Walgreens), and drinking a lot of water and/or cranberry juice if you like it.

Best of luck!

You should really get treated asap. Talk to your mom there's nothing wrong with getting a UTI. I had it about three times already. You need to start drinking lots of water daily. When I don't drink water the whole day my bladder will hurt alot. If you can't get to a doctor go to the ER a doctor will see you there and give you treatment for it. The bleeding is something you should be concerned about.
